Meet Hector Rodas
Clinical Experience, Family Values, and a Passion for Helping People Move Better

Family, Purpose,
and the Drive Behind Phoenix
Outside of his professional work, Hector Rodas is deeply grounded by his family, his community, and the values that have shaped his life both inside and outside of athletics. His journey through sports, training, competition, and recovery has given him more than clinical knowledge. It has given him a personal understanding of what it means to push the body, face setbacks, and keep moving forward with purpose.
Hector’s experience as an athlete and competitor has played an important role in the way he connects with the people he serves. He understands the demands of training, the discipline required to compete, and the frustration that comes when injury, pain, or limitation gets in the way. That firsthand perspective allows him to work with clients from a place of both professional knowledge and personal understanding.
Family is also a major part of Hector’s foundation. The same commitment, patience, and responsibility that guide him at home are reflected in the way he approaches his work at Phoenix Performance Institute. He believes trust is earned through consistency, care, and showing up for people when they need support most.
For Hector, Phoenix is more than a performance and recovery facility. It is an extension of the values he lives by: helping people rebuild, regain confidence, and return stronger than before. Whether he is working with athletes, fighters, active adults, or individuals recovering from injury, Hector brings a steady, focused approach rooted in service, education, and genuine care.
His personal mission is simple: help people better understand their bodies, overcome setbacks, and continue doing the things that give their lives strength, confidence, and meaning.

Founder, Licensed Athletic Trainer, and Performance Specialist
Hector Rodas is the founder of Phoenix Performance Institute and a licensed Athletic Trainer with a background in sports medicine, injury rehabilitation, functional movement, athletic performance, and combat sports support. His work is centered on helping athletes and active individuals recover smarter, move better, and return to training, competition, and daily life with confidence.
Hector developed his clinical foundation through the University of Utah Sports Medicine Program, where he worked with a diverse range of athletes and patients, including collegiate athletes, high school athletes, orthopedic patients, and individuals receiving hand therapy care. This experience helped shape his understanding of how injury, movement, strength, recovery, and long-term performance are all connected.
In addition to his clinical training, Hector brings firsthand experience in combat sports and grappling. Public competition records list him as a grappling competitor affiliated with Absolute MMA Utah, with placements in Grappling Industries and NAGA Salt Lake City events. That background gives him a practical understanding of the physical demands placed on fighters and grappling athletes, including conditioning, mobility, injury prevention, recovery, and fight camp preparation.
After graduating in 2016, Hector continued to expand his professional skill set through advanced certifications and training in Graston Technique, Integrative Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction Therapy, and other recovery and performance-based treatment methods. These tools allow him to create individualized plans that support healing, improve mobility, restore strength, and help clients return to the activities that matter most.
What sets Hector apart is his ability to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance. His approach is not just about treating pain or addressing symptoms. It is about identifying movement limitations, rebuilding strength, improving mechanics, reducing injury risk, and helping each client develop a stronger foundation for long-term performance.
At Phoenix Performance Institute, Hector combines clinical knowledge, hands-on care, strength and conditioning, and firsthand athletic experience to support athletes, fighters, active adults, and anyone looking to move and perform at a higher level.
